Each of our trainers brings a wealth of knowledge, real-world experience, and a commitment to helping every learner build confidence and practical skills. Founder and lead tutor
Andy Rudkin
Andy heads up the training centre, as the coordinator, IQA and lead tutor; teaching all forms of Pool Plant related disciplines. He is also the founder of Andy Rudkin Pool Plant Training.
His time in the World of leisure began when just 20 years of age, taking up a role in hotel-based leisure, and he caught the bug. Working in, and around, leisure for over 20 years gives Andy the necessary operational experience to deliver courses, answer concerns, and put hands on training into practice; he also has a passion for passing on knowledge to others.
Working alongside the other tutors in the company, Andy controls the day to day running of all courses, recalibrations, and online CPDs. Mark Phillips
Mark started out as an apprentice plumbing, heating and gas engineer, and at 26 became the youngest lecturer in the field at NWK College in Kent. After years of teaching he settled in Wales, ran his own plumbing and heating company in the holiday park industry, then moved into pool plant operations. Andy was his Pool Plant Ops tutor, and Mark now brings his engineering and teaching background to the team.

Mark Heighton
Mental health course facilitator
As a climber, mountaineer and expedition leader, I have seen the impact the outdoors can have on mental health, and how much mental health matters in everyday working life. Completing a Mental Health First Aid course inspired me to become a facilitator, helping employers build healthier, more supportive workplaces.

Jules White
Lead tutor, First Aid and Pool Responder
Jules leads our First Aid and Pool Responder training. A former British Army Physical Training Instructor, he brings real-life scenarios into every course. His experience in hotel hospitality means he tailors training to each business, keeping disruption to a minimum and making tasks relevant to every department.

Helena Hammond
STA Pool Plant Tutor, Co. Kerry
Helena has worked hands-on across the leisure industry since 1991, and as a Pool Plant Operator since 1992. In 2008 she moved from Oxford to Co. Kerry to help open a new leisure centre, which she has managed since 2011. With Andy's mentoring she qualified as an STA Pool Plant Tutor in 2025 and teaches in person and online.

Chris Galloway
Pool plant tutor, Glasgow and Ayrshire
Based in Glasgow and Ayrshire, Chris has worked in hotel leisure clubs, large holiday parks and third-sector organisations. He gained his first PPO certificate in 2011 and tutor status in 2025, and has been running pool lifeguard courses since 2017.
